Drawings · maps · scans

Every label on every drawing.
Found in seconds.

APOS reads your PDFs, scans and photos, including handwriting and seven non-Latin writing systems. It works out what kind of document it is and turns every label into something you can search, filter and fly to in 2D or 3D.

01 — What it does

From flat file to answers.

Upload a document and APOS does the reading, sorting and indexing. You get straight to the label, room, valve or station you were looking for.

Reads what others miss

Two readers work together. A fast text engine handles printed labels, and a vision reader takes over for handwriting, non-Latin scripts and faded scans, so a 1930s survey map gets read as well as a fresh PDF.

Knows what it's looking at

Detects the document type and sorts every label into stations, valves, rooms, dimensions, tags and more.

Filter and spotlight

Pick one kind of label and the rest of the drawing dims, in 2D and in 3D.

Search that forgives typos

Keyword and meaning-based search with suggestions. Every hit pans the view straight to it.

3D document world

Fly over the drawing as terrain, with labels as beacons. Select one and the 2D view follows.

Compare revisions

Split, overlay and flip between versions, and see which text changed.

02 — Accuracy

Measured, not promised.

Every release is tested on 48 public-domain drawings, maps and scans, from a 1909 hand-lettered pier drawing to a Guangzhou metro plan and a stained Soviet wiring diagram.

Share of expected labels read exactly. Figures in brackets also count small spelling or punctuation differences. Results on your documents depend on scan quality.

Good to know.

What files can I upload?

PDF, SVG, XML with coordinates, and images (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP). Scanned PDFs and phone photos of drawings work too.

Which languages can it read?

Latin-alphabet languages, plus Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Greek, Russian and Hindi, and handwritten notes and lettering.

How long does processing take?

Most images are ready within a minute or two. Long PDFs take longer, and you can keep working while they process.
